Bangkok covers an area of more than 1,600 square kilometers and is home to approximately ten million people.  It is is a modern, exciting city but there are also many cultural attractions.

Bangkok offers visitors the opportunity to experience a fascinating glimpse of Thailand's gentle culture among the bustle of a great city. This city has been very successful in marrying together the ancient and modern world.

The city is dotted with 400 Buddhist temples, magnificent palaces, classical dance performances, numerous shopping centers with the Chao Phraya River winding its way through the city.

We will definitely keep going back to Bangkok as we have only just scratched the surface.

Over the years we have had many trips to Bangkok.

We had a shocking experience with a tour operator on one visit to the Death railway, Hell Fire Pass and Weary Dunlop Museum etc which I have covered separately in Things To Do - The Tour From Hell.

We  also had lots of funny things happy to us in Bangkok, like the Psycho Taxi Driver who liked driving at 140 kilometers an hour.  That report will be under Transport - Taxi's.
